In the UK, B&Q is the largest purveyor of Do-It-Yourself home improvement solutions for customers. However, their business model was not working in China, DIY ethos was lacking there (they associate DIY as a blue collar job).
To unlock the potential of the China market, B&Q create a new line called VIVID Homes with a modified business model 'Do-it-with-Me'. Six easy steps are introduced to create customer's dream home.

After the design is finalised, shopper are invited to get their 1:1 virtual experience of their design
With VIVID “coaches” available along the way for expertise, customers gather ideas online and in-store. They can share their vision via online “mood boards”, consult their Pocket Coach app, and create layouts in-store with life-size blocks and projections. Once finalized, the customer’s coach fits their ideas to theirs actual space and converts the design into a project plan, including timings and budgets. VIVID is your partner in creating dream homes.
